The Amstelland Clothing Bank Foundation's mission is to provide individuals and families with low incomes and little assets, free of charge, with properly wearable clothing (one of the basic necessities of life) and goods that enable the target group to participate in society. In this, the Clothing Bank distinguishes itself as a social facility from thrift and second-hand stores. With the clothing bank we also contribute to the recycling economy (the reuse of textiles) and to the waste policy of the municipality of Amstelveen (the separate collection of textiles).

The Clothing Bank is there for minima, including refugees and status holders. Clients come from the municipalities of Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Diemen, Ouder-Amstel, Uithoorn and Weesp. An Amstelveenpas, Aalsmeerpas, Stadspas with green dot (for Amsterdam, Diemen and Weesp) or a written statement from the other municipalities is sufficient to prove belonging to the target group.
